Using light rail to promote economic growth

[ACT Light Rail]

Hello Light Railers,

I visited Denver and rode their light rail system last year, and was
impressed. Its not a light rail system using modern european style
trams like the ones in Melbourne, but one using 'train like'
carriages, 6 to 8 carriages long at times. It is very impressive, well
patronised, and is continuing to grow and expand to cover more of
Denver.

In my email today I received a link to http://denver.lightrailnetwork.com
a site which list business within walking distance of the light rail
network. Very useful for those in Denver, and something which shows
how good public transport infrastructure can promote organic growth in
the community it serves, or transport oriented development as it is
more commonly known.
