Dear HACS participants,
We would like to announce the 3rd installment of the HACS Temporal Action Localization Challenge hosted by International Challenge on Activity Recognition Workshop at CVPR 2021. Since the inception of HACS Challenge at ICCV 2019, we have seen a solid progress in the participation (i.e. from 21 to 53 submissions) and the action localization accuracy (i.e. from 16.1% to 40.5% mAP). We strive to make the challenge more impactful and encourage the community to push the limits of action localization in untrimmed videos in the wild.
TracksThis year, the HACS Challenge will be only using the HACS Segments dataset, and include two tracks below.
Track 1: Fully-supervised Learning Track
Participants will use HACS Segments, a video dataset carefully annotated with a complete set of temporal action segments for the temporal action localization task. Each video can contain multiple action segments. The task is to localize these action segments by predicting the start and end times of each action as well as the action label. The protocol of this track is the same as that of last year.
Track 2: Weakly Supervised Learning Track
Participants will use HACS Segments dataset, but are NOT allowed to use the annotations of the start and end time of action segments. They can still use the class labels of all action segments in the video. Participants are encouraged to explore a weakly-supervised training procedure to learn action localization models. Note the protocol is different from that of last year. We no longer allow participants to use HACS Clips dataset as well as the annotations of the start and end time of action segments in HACS Segments dataset.
For more details on the dataset, evaluation protocol, toolkits and results from previous years, please check the Challenge website and the Github.
