David,
I did about a hour or two of testing with the latest A4D and 20r5 last week and I didn't crash....Not sure if that's enough to have confidence for an upgrade but it's something.

My guess is that there is a limited number of Active4D commands that cause a crash in v20 — the bug is in 4D's plugin interface, not Active4D. If you don't use those commands and you are not seeing any crashing, then you should be safe.
