For the purposes of a bibliography, I was wondering if anyone was aware of work done using a committee consisting of different classes of classifiers? If so, could you send me a citation?

Thanks,
Robbie

Hi Robbie,

The one that comes immediately to mind is this paper, using an
adaptive mix of different classifiers types:
http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.157.1274&rep=rep1&type=pdf

If I remember correctly, Baldridge & Osbourne used an ensemble of
different parsers to try and improve re-usability of actively gathers
annotations: http://acl.ldc.upenn.edu/acl2004/emnlp/pdf/Baldridge.pdf

There was apparently one group in the 2010 AISTATS challenge who used
a heterogeneous ensemble method, but I don't think they submitted a
paper. They are alluded to in the summary paper by the organizers
without much detail: http://jmlr.csail.mit.edu/proceedings/papers/v16/

That's all I can think of.
