We are going to be moving our ActiveCampus backend database to a new
server. In preparation for that we have a few questions:

1. Will ActiveCampus run on Windows 2008 & Sql Server 2008?

2. Does anyone know of any documentation available for this type of
move?

3. If our new sql server has a different name than the current one
where all does that need to be changed for the frontend and console
configuration?

4. Is there anything else we need to take into consideration for this?

Thanks!

1. I believe it can run on W2k8. Not sure about SQL 2008 though. I
haven't seen any support for that.
2. Look for the document "ActiveCampus CMS 2.1.6 Upgrade Procedures"
it includes instructions for W2k8.
3. You should only need to change it in the Web.config file.
4. On a side note, if you are building up 2 new servers for this, get
the new site up and running, and reference it as test or something to
that nature (not the machine name, just the website's name in DNS.
That way you can test the site and when you are ready to switch, all
you have to do is switch DNS. Thus you won't have any down time.

Hope this helps,
Paul
