Hi all,
We've been concerned over the past few weeks of testing over the page
load performance of our Active Campus 2.1.5.54 web site. During the
build of the infrastructure, our technical team took measures to go
over the base specifications in an attempt to reach an optimal
performance level. That said, since testing began on the soon to be
released web site, we've calculated page loads as high as 15 seconds
to load up the home page and around 10-15 to navigate from page to
page over high speed connections. This may seem reasonable, but in
comparison with our current home page it is a significant difference.
Our new home page is planned to have a centerpiece of using flash
video. We've held this piece as the page load has been a concern even
before this item was added to the page. The performance is similar
both inside and out of the local network.
My questions for the group are... Have your technical teams
established a benchmark for average page loads? Are you using any
measurement tools to determine system performance? Is there anything
that can be done to speed up performance?
Thanks,
Jason Black
