Since the beginning I have struggled with this whole "targeting" word
usage. Even if you create all of the groups and target content to them
- the end user is going to have no idea the page is targeting to them.
For example on one of our pages we have "spotlights", "news" and
"banner-ads" and even if I targeted all of these items to a student
the page is not going to change the way it looks - a student is not
going to know that the other student spotlights are targeted to them
or even the news stories unless they pay very close attention to
detail. So I have questioned all of the trouble it takes to target
these items.
So - I am not sure what your specific question is, but to me it is
just a marketing ploy by Datatel using words like customization,
targeting, personalize to sell you something that really does not do
anything very special.
