Hi all!
Let's dive right into actions for this week, and keep fighting for what's right!
Useful resource for finding your elected officials (save the numbers in your phone!!): myreps.datamade.us
1. Call your Senators to support the Keep Families Together Act
The United States Government continues to separate families at the border, and just today, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the US will no longer accept claims of domestic or gang violence as grounds for asylum. Several Senators have introduced legislation to keep families together. Call your Senators and urge them to #EndFamilySeparation and #KeepFamiliesTogether.

2. Call your MoCs, Governor, and state Attorney General to support covering pre-existing conditions
The Trump administration has ordered the Department of Justice not to defend the ACA against frivolous lawsuits from GOP-controlled states. One of the key provisions at risk is the requirement for insurance providers to cover people with pre-existing conditions. Without this requirement, many people are left with zero options for health care insurance, so they often face a decision between life saving care or bankruptcy. Not only is this move immoral, it borders on illegal and undermines our democracy.

3. Call your Representative to push for a vote on Net Neutrality
Net neutrality rollbacks go into effect today. The Senate has already passed a resolution to protect net neutrality. Now it's time to put pressure on the House to do the same.More than 80% of Americans, Democrat AND Republican, support net neutrality. Let's make sure our government represents We, the People.

4. Practice self care, and encourage others to do so as well
With the suicides of both Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain last week, we're all reminded about the fragility of life and the fact that all of us, no matter how successful or happy we seem, may need help. Remember to take time out to take care of yourself, and reach out to friends and family in need.

For Texans1. Donate to challenger for Attorney General Justin Nelson
In Texas, the Attorney General is an elected position. Ken Paxton, the current Texas AG, not only is under indictment on felony charges, but he's leading the charge on anti-ACA, anti-immigrant, and anti-LGBTQ rights lawsuits against the US government (see item #2 above). Ken has got to go.
