iSiloX is a desktop application that converts web and file content to the iSilo document format. It is made by DC & Co company. Supported file formats include HTML, CSS, text, Palm Doc, JPEG, GIF, BMP, and PNG.[4] The X in the name iSiloX represents the "transformation" of content functionality provided by iSiloX. iSiloXC, on the other hand, stands for the command-line version of iSiloX, with the C denoting the command-line capability.[4]
I am serving where the need is great in the Dominican Republic. Here in the small towns of the DR the friends are poor but most have smartphones & limited access to the internet. Therefore the smaller size of isilo files is desirable. I know how to create isilo workbook files BUT do not know how to create a menu to choose a month from the total collection. We use JW library but space is the issue, so for past years it would be nice to have smaller files.
I think Isilo is still available for Android and possibly Apple IOS. It was originally written to be used by the PalmOS devices. Many brothers have Isilo to read PDB files that include most of the information found in the equivalent WTL library that is used on Windows.
I think the Watchtower organization asked the developers to quit translating the WTL files into PDB in 2013. So most of my files are that date or earlier. It was small, concise and had a reasonable menu format to use on Android devices.
I just downloaded a copy of Isilo for Windows 10. I found my stored PDB files from 2013 and the app opened them very well. There seems to be an Ipad version but I am not sure how you get the PDB files into the Ipad. I normally used the program on my Android devices. I only have one Android device left and I am charging it now.
Yeh, it still works fine on a PC. It just wont even install (or sideload) on to my latest android phone. The error message says that the app is not compatible with the new processor (Pixel 8 Pro). It did work on a Pixel 6.

These texts can be read on just about any electronic device. The exact samefile can be read on any Android Os (phones and tablets), Pocket PC, iOS: iPhone/ iPad (iSilo version only), Blackberry, Symbian (Nokia, Sony Ericsson andPsion), Smartphones, dedicated ePaper devices (The Kindle, Kindle Fire, Cybook,iRex Digital Reader, iLiad, Hanlin, etc). These books can also be read(using the Mobipocket, PDF and epub version of the text) on most any other PDAincluding your desktop or laptop. Additionally, there are iSilo versions forall of the Android OS platforms (smartphones and tablets).
Answer: Yes, absolutely. The index may also help. Many use the epub version with the free version of the Lithium reader on their android or their free Apple Reader on the iOS. Another good option is to use the free Calibre reader on your laptop. All have good search functions. However using the textbooks index is also a good option.
#1 Most download without any difficulty. At certain internet usagepeak times, you may experience delays as this file is large and thus takes up alot of bandwidth. There is no alternate site, please be patient. Best to use your home wifi as cellular and work wifi have limits.
Does the downloaded file have a ".zip" at the end? Sometimes the .zip get lost from the file during the download, just bringyour cursor onto the file (select it), then add the ".zip" to theend, THEN unzip it.For links to all download sites and a free shareware version of"WINZIP" or "7-zip" decompression software.
There are now two versions of the Hebrew Bible for the Palm Pilot: The first is our masoretic Hebrew text of the Bible according to the Aleppo Codex and the other manuscripts close to it; it is a conversion of our Hebrew Bible in masoretic spelling (this is in the classical spelling as in printed Bibles--without the vowels, however, which are not yet generally supported on the Palm Pilot). The second is our modern full-spelling version of the Hebrew Bible; it is a conversion of our Hebrew Bible in full spelling (this is in the modern spelling as found in books and newspapers, which is easier for non-experts to read, but generally not according to the tastes of Bible experts).
There are two Hebrew versions here, because we discovered that there are two somewhat different systems of Hebrew support for the Palm Pilot with slightly different handing of our texts; until a single standard is adopted, we are providing files for each system separately. You should take care to get what is right for your Palm Pilot's Hebrew support. If you are not sure what to get, just try getting a file from either system and check how the braces x look: if they look OK (not backwards like }x{), you got the right kind of file; if not, you got the wrong kind and need to download the other kind of file.
By the way, the letters in braces are symbols of paragraphing according to the masorah, which are critical in the validity of a Torah scroll (we use English names of the Hebrew letters, so that Hebrew support is not needed in your browser here):
Be sure not to forget to get the iSilo Palm Pilot reader for browsing our files, before trying to use them. You now have two choices: either download the latest version from the iSilo site or the old iSilo free version from here. The old free version cannot do global searches and cannot use the extra memory on expansion cards found on the newer machines. The latest version, on the other hand, can do these things and more, even if not paid for (for details on additional features, see the iSilo site); but it is a "trial version" ($20 shareware) that will automatically turn itself into a freeware version after 30 days use, if no registration code is entered.
This edition of the Hebrew Bible is based on the electronic text (c) by Larry Nelson (P.O. Box 1681, Cathedral City, CA 92234 USA, nelso...@juno.com) as found on the Internet in differing copies. In addition to converting his text to HTML, we did correct a few typographical errors, based mostly on comparing the various text versions we found, and took out all of the paragraph marks (), which were not based on the Hebrew original. We have added signs for the paragraphs found in the original Hebrew: In the poetical books of Psalms, Job (aside from the beginning and end), and Proverbs, each verse normally starts on a new line; where there is a new line within a verse, we added N, and when there is a blank line, we added P. In the rest of the books, we added S for setumah (open space within a line) and P for petuHah (new paragraph on new line) according to our Hebrew Bible). We have not tried to reproduce the complex structure of the special songs such as in Exodus 15 and Deuteronomy 32, as we do not think that that would make sense in English.
Living Stream Ministry is actively working to produce electronic editions of the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee for a variety of platforms. These ebooks consist of the full content of the print versions including page numbers that correspond with the printed text. Although Living Stream Ministry provides ebooks for various platforms, please note that ebooks often cannot be used or transferred across platforms unless otherwise stated by the vendor. For example, an ebook purchased on the App store can only be read by the Apple Books App, and Kindle ebooks can only be read by Kindle readers or Kindle reader software. If you wish to read LSM ebooks on more than one of the platforms listed, you must purchase each ebook format separately. Please make sure you purchase the correct format for your reader(s) because your license for one ebook platform will not apply to other platforms.
