This is really strange, and I'm hoping someone here has seen this before.  On the Android emulator, my actionbar has a weird distortion on the left and right hand sides of it.  When I run the app on my Nexus 4 (kitkat), it looks fine.  So I figured it was just some weird emulator bug.

But today, I got a new Android 2.3 device to do some testing on.  And on this device, the actionbar is distorted again.  Here's a screenshot:

Both the actionbar, and the tab bar have this weird discoloration to them.  Has anyone seen this before?
I used http://jgilfelt.github.io/android-actionbarstylegenerator/  to colorize the actionbar ... could that have something to do with the issue?

Got that error too! I just did a clean in my project and it resolved this error!

Yeah this is aapt failing to process the 9-patches. Doing a clean build should fix.

Do you mean just "Project->Clean..." because I've probably done that 100 times since this started happening, and it hasn't helped.

So I noticed that website that generated the 9patch files for me did not create a "drawable-ldpi" directory.  This cheap android phone I'm running this on has a resolution of 240x320.  Could the problem be that I just don't have the right files for this resolution?

Potentially. It definitely has to scale the asset but i'm not sure if it does it pre or post 9-patch apply.
