Happy Friday Everybody! (May 3, 2013)

What’s my favorite announcement for the week you ask?  I know I shouldn’t pick favorites, but I can’t help it.  I’m very excited about this one:

·        Spread the word! FREE Waco Transit for WISD students - WISD and Waco Transit have come up with a plan that we hope will boost attendance and alleviate some transportation problems. Starting today through June 6, Waco Transit will be running a pilot program where they will be allowing WISD Middle School and High School students to ride the bus for free. That’s right, free! The student must show a valid WISD Student ID. It must be a school trip, to school, to home, or a school related trip during the school day. Questions?: Contact David Ellis by phone at 254.757.5909 or email at david...@wacoisd.org. <Flyer>

Catching a ride to school may seem like a little thing, but it can make a big difference! I have high hopes that this is a step in a good direction. Thanks to WISD, Waco Transit and all the folks who are working hard on this!

If you have announcements and events for May and for the summer, please send them to eve...@actlocalllywaco.org. Thanks for all you are doing!  Let’s keep each other informed!
