Congratulations to
Larry Cheng and
Hunter Sanchez who were #1 and #2 on the
National Top Improvers list, gaining 299 and 279 standard rating points, respectively.
Joshua Liang gained
205 standard rating points (#5 National Top Improver) whilst Shriya Karthik
gained 162 points (#11), Siddharth Banerjea gained
151 points (#14) and Minchen Yang gained 130 points (#22).
Well done to all of these up-and-coming young players.
Congratulations also to our ACT juniors whose standard ratings went over 1000 for the first time.
Somon Vos
increased his standard rating from 940! to 1030! whilst Minchen Yang increased
his standard rating from 933!! to 1063!!, Shriya Karthik
went from 861! to 1023! and Charles Huang
went from 902 to 1009!
The next ACF ratings will come out in early June.

ratings gained from events where each player has a minimum of 60 minutes per game).
Standard ratings are used to select juniors for national development activities like the Junior Elite Training Squad (JETS) and international representative junior events, as well as some ACT Junior Chess League
junior development activities.
