26/12 attendance – 13 adults (12 a locals) and 6 children. Some of the children are having school holidays in other islands visiting their grandparents.
We visited some of those who came on 19/12.
. Li Ming Shan (Elvy’s father) , Elvy, P3, who is rather good with her Chinese, used to
be rather ‘anti Christianity’. She came with her mother and younger brother on the
19/12. Her father is also opening up
. Liang Kang Rong (Lina & Lisa’s dad). The kids and their mum were away in Tg Pinang on day of our visit.
. Ah Hoon (Cellen’s mum).
. San San just returned from Jakarta, came with her son Ken, 4yrs.
Lina Tan – three of her five children were not well. She came with two on 26/12.
2010 ended with a good note –
De Chen is back in COGS with his whole family!
Hui Mei will be serving fulltime in the Chinese Ministry from Jan 2011. Her Chinese and English have improved greatly. She is now reading more of the Chinese characters.
David Li,19, is committed to music ministry.
Angel, 14, is taking piano lessons, can’t wait to be playing on the keyboard on Sundays. Yohanes, 15, is back, likes to play drum.
Zheng Xiong,14, has grown more mature – wanting to take responsible role.
Cai Qin,13, Zheng Xiong’s sister has been coming for the past three weeks.
Leo, will be 14 in Jan, is back with his cousin, Ahan, 15.
Now that we have eight teens in our midst! We need to have a separate class for them at the Sunday School. We will be needing two Sunday school teachers!
Lina Tan got baptized at the combined Christmas Day Service.
2011 – we planned to have
. quarterly activities for the parents at Suka Damai.
. youth group – now that we have 8, the teens are asking for it. Help needed!
. Baptism class for the teens ) The GAI is using the Catechism starting 2011.
. Confirmation class ) I’ve just got the Bahasa & English versions
The St Andrew’s Cathedral Mandarin Cong, a mission team of 14 will be coming on 7/1 thru 9/1/11. They will be teaching English and Chinese at an orphanage in Batu Aji, painting a house and do prayer walk. They will worship with us on Sunday 9/1 before leaving for Singapore by the 7.10pm ferry.
Sunday 2/1/11
The attendance for 2/1 was 19 adults (included: 3 Singapore helpers and Rev A. Wagunu) and 8 children at the Sunday School.
I was on leave 28/12/10 to 1/1/11 – away from the fire crackers and horn blowing noises of Nagoya, near where I stay.
The School will open on 10/1/11. Many are away visiting their grandparents at other islands.
