How can our international guest get wireless at the ACS RDF 2010
meeting? The ACS meeting are notorious for their lack of internet
access, so we are looking for 3G solutions. I hope to see online
coverage using the official acsrdf2010 tag, e.g. at FriendFeed:
http://friendfeed.com/acs-rdf-2010

Therefore, please reply on this forum with tips. If people want to
share their existing wireless with a FON device, or put their Droid in
tethering mode, that would be a pretty cool solution. I am sure we can
work out some fair-use agreement during the meeting to not overload
such solution.

So, please share your ideas on how we can make this CINF meeting
covered online!

Egon, thanks - great idea to tackle this one in advance

This has worked really well for my iPhone (only works with OS < 4)

1. Jailbreak your phone with Blackra1n (http://blackra1n.com/)

This makes your iPhone into a wireless hotspot without the need to tether it

I will have mine with me which can be used. Only problem is it kills the battery but is fine with a power cord

In Sweden you can buy a USB stick for about €30, and then buy prepaid
3G wireless for €15 for a week or so...

Are there options like that in Boston too?

This is our equivalent. $70 for stick, and would probably need $60 plan
