Iuse my old Ipad to draw digitally, and my art program of choice is Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. I know this app is unsupported/ discontinued now since iOS update 11, but I simply haven't updated my Ipad from iOS 10.3.3, so the app still functions normally. Below are some screenshots of the version I'm currently using to draw.
Today, I was working on a drawing when I accidentally deleted the sketch from the app's home page (second screenshot above). Unfortunately, even with all my years of trying to make 2 copies of each sketch to avoid losing my art, I have lost the whole art file except the separate initial thumbnail sketch I made for this piece.
Does anyone know of a way to access the deleted files for this app? I'm not very tech-savvy, so I am unsure of how to access the app's/ Ipad's trashcan for the files. I did not back up my Ipad since starting on this piece, so no Icloud backup is available here I don't think. I've connected my Ipad to my Macbook Pro (macOS High Sierra, version 10.13.6), but even using iExplorer to go through my files I cannot find a version of my recently lost sketch.
However, there IS data files visible in iExplorer that show my files were accessed today (08/27). The files don't have any of my sketch's art available though, presumably because it was moved to a trashcan earlier. There are other files in here of my sketches, with .png previews at least.
Is there any way, at the bare minimum, where I can see a preview of the deleted sketch or something? If the file is truly unrecoverable from the Ipad's trash/ sketchbook pro's app, I'd at least appreciate some kind of image I could use to start working on this piece again.
This answer did not help me but I have the same problem. Was using sketchbook to make sketches but now one of the drawing tools make any mark. what the heck??? I tried following directions to go to settings but there was no option under settings > Sketchbook to do the rest of the direx. Scrolling down just gets you tons of fine print with no options to make any change.
Hey sorry it took me so long to respond to this. I don't know if you've solved the problem already or not but if you haven't you probably have your transparency locked. (There's a lock on the bottom left corner of each layer, you might have pressed it by accident). That was actually the problem for me as well but I accepted the solution because I didn't know how to delete this post and I wanted everyone who saw it to know I didn't need help anymore
I've read that the ipad app is limited to 72 dpi is this the reason? Because when I draw it looks great but seems to lose quality as I work on it. I did start the drawing on the biggest canvas option to try and avoid a low quality end result.
I have purchased a used ipad mini 1st generation and am having difficulty finding a drawing or sketching app on the apple app store other than basic apps for children. All the serious art apps are for IOS 10 or above. Does anyone know of one that will work with IOS 9 please?
Thanks for the info but I dont understand what you mean by downloading the latest version of the app on another i device and then going back to the ipad and downloading it to see if there is an older version available? What is the link between to the two devices and how does downloading on another device relate to downloading on the ipad please?
Then, back on your iPad, you can try to download the latest app from the iOS App Store and if the developer/s has/have left an older, compatible version of their app/s on Apple's app servers, then you will receive a small window pop-up prompt that states that there is an older version of the app that is compatible with your device.. Would you like to download this version now.
If you have a computer with an older version of iTunes (version 12.6.5 or earlier ), you can try downloading the most recent versions/s of app/s, by accessing the iOS App Store, through iTunes, logging into the iOS App Store using your Apple ID and password, and then, download the recent version of the app/s you like to use on your iPad, to iTunes on your computer, FIRST.
