I am running a 2016 MacBook Pro, 2.7/Core i7 with 16 GB of ram.
Seems like it is fine to me. I am not doing anything crazy with it.
No problems on my end.

I am still running a 2014 MacBook Pro with 16GB of memory… not doing anything crazy either. Pretty decent up to 3 story single family home (both 3D window and rendering). Begins to sweat when I’m modeling a 4 story multi unit complex - workable in 3D window but rendering drags. If your 6 year old MBP did not have flash storage - this will be you’re biggest gain IMHO.

The option of doubling 16GB to 32GB memory for $400 (currently) is too good to pass up. I know it adds up… but consider this from GS:

The refeb mac store is right up the street from you on Elvas. If you buy from Amazon that is where it is coming from.
