Two messages were posted to this list recently that
included invitations with links to view pornographic
materials. We apologize for that, although the managers
of this list had nothing to do with it.

This situation has been corrected. Regrettably, there
is no way to delete the two messages, nor their
inappropriate subject headers. Be assured that no
actual pornography has been uploaded to the group.

Until now, this Google Group has been unmoderated, but
it is no longer. Henceforth, only managers (me and any
other ATY race organizers who assist me) may
(a) invite new members; (b) upload files; and (c)
create or edit pages.

Only members may post messages. (This has always been
true.) From now on, no message will be posted to this
list unless it has been read and approved by a manager.
This will result in slower turnover, but the volume on
this list has been slow. We trust this will provide
little inconvenience for anyone.

Two subscribers asked that their names be deleted. This
is a Google Group, until today open to all subscribers.
People subscribe and unsubscribe themselves. There was
really no need for those requesting to be deleted to do
so, but honoring their request was simpler than
explaining.

Please be aware, especially if you are a runner in
Across the Years, that this list has nothing whatever
to do with administrative batch email messages that are
sent from the race organization to all runners. Such
email is constructed by race officials on an ad hoc
basis and sent out to all runners. Furthermore, in
doing so, there is no way that anyone's email address
is exposed to others.

It's now three and a half months until Across the Years
2008, and many of you are well into training for the
upcoming race. Please feel free to use this list to
discuss matters related to the race!
