Deadline 4/19: Science Bootcamp Sponsored Registration Applications

We are excited to announce this year’s New England Science Boot Camp for Librarians will be held on June 26-28, 2024 at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Science Boot Camp is a fun and affordable 2 ½ day immersion into science topics offering opportunities for librarians and library students interested in science, health sciences, and technology to learn, meet and network in a fun, laid-back atmosphere.

The topics for this year's SBC science session are:

• Fisheries Oceanography
• Civil & Environmental Engineering
• Community Nursing

Each science session will include one scientist presenting an overview of the field, and a second scientist discussing research applications within the field. This year's Capstone will feature Citizen Science in Academic Libraries with speakers who are doing citizen science in their libraries and in campus classrooms.  

Thanks to generous support from NNLM Region 7, BLC and the New England Science Boot Camp for Librarians are able to offer a number of sponsored registrations for those who may lack professional development funding and/or who are underrecognized at this event and in academic librarianship: Learn more and please apply here. Applications are due by Friday, April 19, at 12 pm ET. Awards will be announced on Thursday, April 25.
