he Northeast Institutional Repository Day 2022 (NIRD22) Program Committee is pleased to issue its Call for Proposals for the fourth annual Northeast Institutional Repository Day, a free event that brings together those in the Northeast (and beyond!) who manage or are interested in institutional repositories, digital collections, and digital preservation. Understanding the current environment and financial challenges faced by many this year, NIRD22 will be a virtual event.

December 1&2, 2022

Time: 12/1 afternoon; 12/2 morning

Virtual event (Zoom link will be provided to registrants)

The NIRD22 Program Committee welcomes any proposal related to institutional repositories, but is especially interested in those that focus on your takeaways from successful OR failed projects, collaborations, or initiatives. Tell us what helped or hindered your work in these or other areas:

  • Unique institutional repository (IR) collections;
  • IR metadata interoperability, ingest, or maintenance;
  • Innovations or issues related to stewardship of IR material;
  • Building relationships with IR depositors or contributors;
  • Repository migration, metrics, and accessibility;
  • Improving equity and inclusion for IR contributors and users.

Proposals that are platform agnostic are particularly encouraged. The Program Committee is not accepting vendor-driven proposals for NIRD22.

The Program Committee is requesting that proposals fall into the following formats:

  • Lightning Talk (10 min) - a brief, free-standing presentation, with or without slides, including Q&A;
  • Presentation (20 min) - a more comprehensive, free-standing presentation or panel, including Q&A;
  • Workshop - an instructor-led workshop on a topic or tool (please note: accepted workshops may be scheduled outside the stated conference time)

Important dates:

  • Extended deadline for submission: October 14, 2022
  • Notification of acceptance: November 1, 2022

Please submit your proposal using this form
