Dear Colleagues,
The New England Chapter of the Association of College & Research Libraries is pleased to share two volunteer and professional development opportunities for members interested in getting more involved and contributing their expertise. Brief descriptions of each opportunity are provided below.
Volunteer Opportunity: Social Media Coordinator
Looking for a creative professional development opportunity? The Web & Communications Committee is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to join our team! The Social Media Coordinator is a volunteer position responsible for creatively managing and maintaining the ACRL-NEC’s social media presence. This includes, but is not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter and LinkedIn. This volunteer role oversees account access and posting capabilities for members, ensures effective use of social media tools, and develops engaging content that reflects the organization’s voice. Responsibilities include responding to all social media inquiries and providing appropriate referrals, as well as evaluating and recommending new platforms or tools to strengthen outreach. The coordinator will also create, maintain, and openly communicate clear policies for social media content and engagement.
Volunteer Opportunity: Scholarships & Awards Committee Co-Chair/Member Call
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the ACRL-NEC and help recognize excellence within our community? We’re seeking a dedicated volunteer to serve as Scholarship & Awards Committee Co-Chair. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaboration and celebrating the achievements of others. As Co-Chair, you will serve as a voting member of the Board of Directors and help guide the full scholarship and awards cycle. This includes updating application forms, setting the annual submission deadline, coordinating with the ACRL-NEC webmaster to post materials, and promoting opportunities throughout the fall. You’ll work closely with committee members to review applications, confirm membership eligibility, select award recipients, and communicate outcomes to chapter leadership.
If you’re enthusiastic about celebrating and promoting the work of our fellow library professionals, we’d love to have you join the ACRL-NEC! If you have any questions or would like more information about these volunteer opportunities, please don’t hesitate to contact Jessica Condlin: pres...@acrlnec.org.
Sincerely,
Jessica Condlin, President ACRL-NEC
