Dear ACRL-NEC colleagues,

Save the Date for the 2026 Northeast Science Camp for Librarians! We are excited to announce this year’s Northeast Science Camp for Librarians (formerly the New England Science Boot Camp for Librarians) will be held on June 8-10, 2026 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire. Science Camp is an engaging and affordable 2 ½ day immersion into science topics, offering opportunities for library workers and library students interested in science, health sciences, and technology to learn, meet, and network in a fun, laid-back atmosphere.

The topics for this year's conference are:
  • Indigenous Knowledge in Life Science
  • Particle and Theoretical Physics
  • Social Work for Wellness
Each science session will include one scientist presenting an overview of the field, and a second scientist discussing research applications within the field. This year's Capstone is Librarian Publishing: Publishing in the Discipline, Research Impact, and Writing

Registration for Science Camp will open on Friday, April 17, 2026, and will be announced via email to BLC Announcements and on the conference webpage. This conference is open to students, faculty, librarians, library workers, and anyone interested in learning more about science, health sciences, and technology. While this conference is being organized in New England, we welcome interested attendees from anywhere. Please share this opportunity with your colleagues in BLC and beyond!

Scholarship Opportunity: BLC and the Northeast Science Camp for Librarians are pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships that fully or partially cover the registration fee for attendees who may lack professional development funding and/or who are underrecognized at this event and in librarianship.
