Job Description
The Boston University Libraries are seeking a Library Systems Analyst to ensure effective utilization of the core library systems and integrations to provide excellent digital services to the library’s user communities. Reporting to the Director for Library Technology and Discovery Services, this position provides technical support for the administration of BU’s integrated library system (Alma) as it is employed across functional areas of the Libraries. The LSA serves as a principal contact with the library’s campus partners around systems integrations projects and service improvements, such as for authentication and user management.
The LSA augments the libraries’ staff abilities to work effectively with its ILS and related systems in areas including metadata management, collections, fulfillment, users, resource sharing, and analytics. By observing and employing principles and practices of service design, the LSA collaborates with colleagues in the Library Technology and Discovery Services department and across the libraries to continuously improve processes to meet evolving staff and patron needs. The LSA prepares reports and provides support for connectors and other cross-platform integrations. The LSA provides insight and guidance around potential new services and systems for the libraries based on industry trends and updates from partner organizations.
