Rivier College has a position available for a full time Reference
Librarian.

Job description: Provide reference services to students, faculty,
staff, and other library patrons in person as well as using e-mail,
online chat and texting. Provide classroom library instruction, create
LibGuides and participate in the library’s Information Literacy
Program. Work with other Library staff to edit and revise the Library
web page, including online tutorials. Order materials in designated
subject areas and liaison with faculty. Assist with selecting
research database and reference resources. Learn and implement new
software or other technologies as they relate to reference and
instruction. Participate in promoting library services, resources and
events. Assist in the coordination and development of materials for
library events. Create library book displays. Occasionally provide
reference service at the branch Educational Resource Center.
Participate in other tasks within the User Services Department as
needed such as circulation, reserves, and student worker supervision.
Keep current with library trends by attending conferences, webinars,
and peer meetings.

Qualifications:
Required: MLS degree or MLS degree candidate (near completion).
Experience working in a library, academic library experience
preferred. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication
skills. Experience with conducting reference interviews and searching
research databases. Some web page editing skills and library
instruction experience.

Preferred: Collection development experience, advanced web editing
skills, experience with LibGuides. Experience providing library
instruction in accordance to the ACRL Information Literacy Competency
Standards.
