The ERMIG co-chairs are pleased to announce that our Call for Proposals for the 2026 spring program is now open at https://tinyurl.com/5n88mstv.
This year’s program is a virtual mini-conference of 10-20 minute lightning talks around the theme of E-Resource Collections Outreach: Successes and Opportunities. The proposal deadline is Friday, February 6, 2026.
This is a free, virtual program hosted by ACRL New England Chapter’s Electronic Resources Management Interest Group (ERMIG).
It will be held on Friday, March 26, 10:00-11:30am, via Zoom.
An essential part of electronic resource assessment involves connecting with stakeholders to assess needs and use. Share your collections outreach wins / creative communication techniques / relationship building endeavors in a 10-20 minute lightning talk, followed by group discussion. Some potential topics include:
How do new, or established, librarians make connections with faculty to understand research and curricular needs?
Email often falls into the black hole of the faculty inbox. What innovative ways have you found to reach out?
Involving larger groups in assessment takes time and may add conflicting priorities to the conversation. How do we balance time-sensitive decision making and varied opinions?
When feedback is limited and budgets are tight, can low-use or niche resources be justified?
How have you been able to bridge the gap between faculty feedback and administrative priorities and directives?
We look forward to reading your proposals, and hope you will consider joining the event on 3/27/2026! Registration information will be released closer to the event date.
