Hi all,

 

NISO has three upcoming workshops about metadata’s intersections with various aspects of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Unlike most NISO events, these workshops are free.

Three Free NISO Workshop/Webinars on Metadata to Support DEIA

Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Committee has been charged with helping us identify and prioritize concrete actions in support of DEIA in the information community. This series of three, two-hour workshop webinars represents our first step toward achieving this. They are open to everyone, free of charge and each will be held twice (9.30-11.30am ET and 8.00-10.00pm ET) to accommodate all time zones. We warmly invite you and your colleagues to join us for one, two, or all three! 

October 4: Workshop 1 - Metadata and DEIA 
Keynote Speaker: To be announced
Moderators: Karim Boughida, University of Rhode Island Libraries; and Maria Stanton, Atla

November 15: Workshop 2 - Metadata and Accessibility

December 6: Workshop 3 - Metadata and Indigenous Knowledge/Non-Traditional Outputs
