The Model Building Byelaws, recently released by the Ministry of Urban Development for adoption in the entire country is a small step towards achieving larger overarching g o a l of ease of doing business in India. It provides a fundamental framework to help create objective, rational and updated provisions for building construction as also an online single-window building plan approval process.

The Bye-laws have been unified for easy reference besides simplification of processes. One common single application form has been devised for online submission by the building proponents to the concerned urban local body instead of applying to various agencies like Airports Authority of India, National Monuments Authority, Fire Services, Jal Board, Delhi Urban Arts Commission, Metro, Power Distribution Companies, concerned central ministries like Forests, Railways, Defence etc.

On this context PHD Chamber is organising a Conference on Model Building Byelaws 2016 on 8th July, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at PHD House, New Delhi. The objective of the conference is to discuss and deliberate on the o p p o r t u n i  t i e s /challenges that will emerge from these reforms in construction sector.

Large number of delegates are expected to join the conference from Industry, Municipalities, Academia and Government.
