Music Similarity statistics

Hi,

I love the idea of this project, I think there are so many uses.
However I was wondering if there was any thought/talk of add similar
track kind of functionalities? Like the Banshee Mirage plugin or Last
FM similar track functionality.

Anyways just curious as I always thought an Open Source set of data
for similarity of a large catalog of songs would be awesome. Just
wondering if Acoustid had any plans to become that or not.

As much as I'd love have that kind of information, it's just not the
goal of Acoustid. There is a long way to go before the project reaches
its primary goals. Since I started learning more about audio/music
analysis, I wanted to eventually have this kind of functionality, but
I don't see myself focusing on that in a very long time. It's a very
different problem from what Acoustid currently tries to solve.
