As much as I like my Acoustic Research ARIR200 Internet Radio, I
sometimes think about buying another internet radio device. I am just
wondering if anybody here has looked at the Sony Dash Personal
Internet Viewer or Logitech Squeezebox Radio? From an economic
standpoint, about $100 can buy a ARIR200, about $150 can get a
Logitech Squeezebox Radio, and about $200 can buy a Sony Dash
Personal Internet Viewer right now. I suspect that a sale will come
around soon enough making the Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer the
same price as the Logitech. Granted, if you want just an audio source,
I suspect the Logitech beats the Sony. However, if you want a multi
purpose device, the Sony Dash looks attractive. I like Slacker Radio
and since the Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer has Slacker Radio, I
may just have to go look at one. What effect is this likely to have
on the ARIR200 or other internet radios?

Read the reviews on Amazon.com about the Logitech Squeeezbox. At first
glance it looks great, but it also has quirkiness in its operation,
although its user interface seems better designed.

For $150 right now, Best Buy is also offering an in-store
deal on the Squeezebox Boom, an alternative to their
Squeezebox Radio.

It was what I was eyeing before deciding the regular $300 price
tag was too much and picked up an RIR200 myself.

I was able to snag one locally and have been playing with one
for a couple of days....I can give it a big thumbs up so far...

You'll get all the internet radio & Slacker you get with the 200,
plus noticeably better sound, services like Pandora, Live365,
Shoutcast and more, handy control features via your computer,
and much more.

If you can find one locally give it some consideration. It's a beaut!

Does the Boom suffer the same quirks as reported in the smaller Squeezebox Radio?

CNET has a review of the Sony Dash on their website. They do briefly
mention Slacker Radio and Pandora Radio. I think I may be more interested
in this when the price comes down to say $150.
