Wow, no posts here for 6 months. Has everyone abandoned their radio? The company that produced this radio should be ashamed. Who would think that an "internet" radio would become obsolete? Well my radio will no longer connect to time and weather. I can only set the time manually. Slacker doesn't work. Says I have made too many skips. WTH? Since the last "update", scrolling is bad and can't usually scroll to the end of a menu before it jumps out. Acoustic Research should have given owners a trade-in on a current product before abandoning this now doorstop. Myself and Acoustic Research will never cross paths again. Acoustic Research = fail. Seriously any AM/FM radio from 1960 would still be functional.

Mine is just about functioning. No time or weather as you said. It froze a couple of weeks ago, and I thought that it was the end, as it kept trying to connect to a particular station which apparently changed their stream. I couldn't, for a long while, get back to the "My Favorites" menu to try to change the station. Then for some reason, it allowed me to search for stations, and after I managed to connect to one, I was able to get back to "My Favorites" and it started working again.

But I totally agree that I would never buy an Acoustic Research product. The lack of support was horrible.  If I had any radio reception at all, I'd much prefer my first transistor radio to this POS. For now, and as long as it lasts though, I'll continue to use it.

I think you just need to log into your Slacker account to get it restarted... I am pretty sure mine is all working,

I'm thinking about ripping out the CPU and hooking up the power/LCD/buttons/speakers to a Raspberry Pi.

Hi. I started the group a long time ago, but with the death of two AR radios I did abandon the technology, replacing the radios with 2 used iPods and speakers or a dock.  Finding he right radio alarm app (one that works) was challenging, but now internet radio lives on in another form.

So that the rest of us don't have to repeat your hunt, what app did you end up using on the iPod?

Oh, sorry I didn't say -- it is TimeTuner. It runs on multiple versions of IOS, at least the ones my older iPods use. I don't have the new, colourful iPods, just the less costly older models.
I've tried other alarm radio apps, some with 4 or 5 stars, but they always had fatal flaws such as not waking me up with radio or with a backup sound. TimeTuner has been very solid and reliable as an alarm clock, and you can add your own streams.  The radio function does not display track info, it's only drawback.

Mine is at the office. No time since last week, but I only use it to listen to kdfc. I use a tablet with a speaker set at home. Much easier and Tune in app is great.

Still seems to work for "favourites" and that's all wife really cares
about. Unit has been recently replaced with a Sonos system so it will
likely get relegated to the workshop shortly.
