Final week for guaranteed T-Shirts

Coaches,

This is the last week that I can guarantee the correct size or even that your students will get a T-Shirt.  I need everyone to register now!

The following are the sizes I currently have in the database for T-Shirts.  Please double check that everyone has entered the correct sizing.

XS - 1

S - 9

M - 12

L - 13

XL - 6

XXL - 30

REFERENCE MATERIALS

Each contestant may bring a printed copy of your Team Reference Document.
This document may contain up to 25 pages of reference materials, single-sided, letter or A4 size, with pages numbered in the upper right-hand corner and your university name printed in the upper left-hand corner.  Text and illustrations must be readable by a person with correctable eyesight without magnification from a distance of 1/2 meter.  It may include hand-written comments and corrections on the fronts of pages only.  The document must be in some type of notebook or folder with the name of your institution on the front.

If you have any questions about reference materials please contact me.

We reserve the right to inspect each team's reference material to determine if it will be allowed.

REGISTRATION:

This is your weekly reminder to register your teams!!!

We only have 28 teams currently registered.  

The deadline for ordering T-Shirts is less than 1 week away.  

Without an accurate count of teams and sizing information you will not be guaranteed a T-Shirt.

Without an accurate count of teams we also will not have a good estimate of how much food/supplies to order.

IMAGE DOWNLOAD AND TESTING:

Only a couple Schools and a few teams have connected to our test server.

Only one school has submitted solutions.

It is imperative that you download the image and test it out PRIOR to participating in the short test contests coming up.  

There may be connection/firewall issues that will need to be addressed by your IT department.

This benefits your students by working out any bugs in the system before the actual contest.

In addition, your students will not be wasting time familiarizing themselves with the environment on the actual contest date.

TEST CONTEST (1 HOUR):

Sunday 10/28 at 2:00PM

Thursday, Nov 8 at 7:00PM

The test contest will last for 1 hour.  If you have everything sorted out ahead of time, the students can log in, submit a correct solution and be done in less than 10 minutes.  Or they can stick around and submit multiple solutions (correct or incorrect).

FEES:

I have not received any payments/checks as of today.  Please send checks ASAP so that I can start to order and pay vendors.

SPECIAL REQUESTS:

Please let me know if anyone has any requirements, ie Kosher, Vegetarian, etc meals.

Parking - Please let me know if you will require a parking spot and how many you will need.

For those of you who have signed up a team you MUST have your students register and then assign them to the teams you have set up.

Everyone must register and fill out a profile.  This is where I get T-Shirt sizing information from.  I need an accurate count!

As some of you know, after you register your teams I will send you an email explaining how to download the contest image in order for yourself and your students to get familiar with the contest environment and to test it out.

You must use a hard connection!!  Wifi will not work!

As stated before you will be required to participate in a short test contest.

You may pick from one of the following 2 days:

Sunday 10/28 at 2:00PM
Thursday, Nov 8 at 7:00PM

Those of you who choose not to participate on one of the 2 dates above will be given low priority if any issues should arise during the contest.  It is in everyone's best interest to do this!

PAYMENT OF FEES (taken from http://acmgnyr.org):

Please send payments ASAP!

• $150 each team (including one coach per school), plus $50 per guest.
• Example - University A brings 3 teams.
• The fee of $450 will include 9 students (3 students per team) and 1 coach.
• If each of the 3 teams brings a different coach the fee would be $550 as the other 2 coaches would be considered guests and be issued a fee of $50 each.
• ONLY CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED
• Checks MUST be made out to "Baylor University ICPC HQ." Please make a note in the memo that the check is for "GNY Regional Contest 2018.
• Checks MUST be received by Friday, November 2, 2018 to avoid any late fees and guarantee a slot at the contest.
• Any teams registering after the deadline will be assessed a $30 late fee.
