Important update - Reversion to last year's rules regarding Reference Materials.

Coaches,

The registration fee deadline has passed.  A late fee of $30 will be added if the payment is not postmarked Nov 2, 2018.

We have found some conflicting information regarding reference materials.  

We still had the old rules about the materials up on the website while making the new announcement here.  After consulting the GNY ICPC team and some coaches we have decided to revert to past rules regarding reference materials for this year.  Namely, text books WILL be allowed along with other printed material.

We feel that having the conflicting information would cause confusion and we want to ensure an even playing field for all students.

At the coaches meeting this will be a topic for discussion.

Please review below and for those teams not listed you will be required to participate in Thursdays' contest ( 11/08/18 @7:00PM).

If you are not listed then you MUST log in and submit a run during the last practice contest (Thursday 11/08/18 @7:00PM).

I strongly suggest you download and burn the image prior to the practice contest.

The system should be running so you can try it out before the practice contest.

For those of you who have signed up a team you MUST have your students register and then assign them to the teams you have set up.

Everyone must register and fill out a profile.

As some of you know, after you register your teams I will send you an email explaining how to download the contest image in order for yourself and your students to get familiar with the contest environment and to test it out.

You must use a hard connection!!  Wifi will not work!

***********************The image will connect to our server using a VPN on UDP port 1194, so you should make sure your firewall lets that out.

A hardwire network connection is required - WIFI will not work********************************

As stated before you will be required to participate in a short test contest.

Those of you who choose not to participate on the dates above will be given low priority if any issues should arise during the contest.  It is in everyone's best interest to do this!

PAYMENT OF FEES (taken from http://acmgnyr.org):

Please send payments ASAP!

• $150 each team (including one coach per school), plus $50 per guest.
• Example - University A brings 3 teams.
• The fee of $450 will include 9 students (3 students per team) and 1 coach.
• If each of the 3 teams brings a different coach the fee would be $550 as the other 2 coaches would be considered guests and be issued a fee of $50 each.
• ONLY CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED
• Checks MUST be made out to "Baylor University ICPC HQ." Please make a note in the memo that the check is for "GNY Regional Contest 2018.
• Checks MUST be received by Friday, November 2, 2018 to avoid any late fees and guarantee a slot at the contest.
• Any teams registering after the deadline will be assessed a $30 late fee.

We are in the final stretch.

A reminder that you ARE allowed to bring text books and printed material to the contest.  We will discuss restricting this at the coaches meeting on the day of the contest.

The practice contest is now down.  You will not be able to log in using the passwords we provided you earlier.  

You can still use the user name "user" and password "user" (if it is required) to play around with the contest environment.
