I've confirmed this bug under Acme SAC for OS X 0.27 as well.
The :, idioms work fine under Linux. I haven't tested Windows.
To make things even more interesting, :., works for me if
my cursor is to the very right of the expression (next to the ,)
or if I right-click and drag select it. right-clicking anywhere else
on the expression causes the non-existing file error.
I can't imagine the code to handle : idioms to be os-dependant.
Perhaps this has something to do with how file names are represented
or parsed?
