I've been wanting to go to this symposium now for a couple of years,
but I've always been busy. Now I'm going to sign up. It looks really
useful and like a good networking opportunity.
Here's the email again:

Greetings from the College of Business, at Florida State University!
We wanted to make you aware of our 10th Annual Women, Inspiration, and
Technology Symposium on Wednesday, February 24th from 5:30pm - 8:00pm
(including hors d'oeuvres and dinner) at the FSU University Center
Club. The purpose of the WIT Symposium is twofold. First, it will
provide professional women in technology-related fields the
opportunity to come together and share experiences, challenges and
inspirations with each other. Second, corporate participants will
mentor female students who are getting ready to embark on, or may be
interested in pursuing a technology-related career. All of this will
be accomplished in a casual atmosphere filled with good food and good
fun.
Nancy Deal, a Business Development Executive in IBM Global Services,
will be our keynote speaker. Nancy has responsibility for the
qualification and validation of IT transformation opportunities in the
Public Sector. In addition to her business development
responsibilities, Nancy also serves as the Senior Location Leader for
IBM operations in Tallahassee. These responsibilities include
employee and community development as well as government and media
relations.
For more information about the 2010 WIT Symposium, and to register,
please visit: http://www.cob.fsu.edumis/wit/ . Also, feel free to
contact me directly with any questions.
We are also still in need of corporate sponsorship for the event.
There are a variety of opportunities and giving levels available. If
this is an event that your organization would like to endorse, and be
recognized for its commitment to women and FSU, please contact me or
Dr. David Paradice at dpar...@cob.fsu.edu.
Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you!
