Linux and 3D printing

...and I have a question.

 

Is anyone on the list a 3d printer guru?

 

I've finally taken the plunge and am assembling a printer (a Mendelmax 1.5), and would like to chat with someone about the software end of things. Ideally, I would like to be able to keep my entire "tool chain" based in Linux, and wondered if anyone could help point me in the right direction.

I think you and I chatted a bit previously, but MakeICT, the local makerspace that is starting up, has some members who are knowledgable about RepRaps.  There is an Arduino 101 workshop on January 19 that would be a good time to stop by and chat, if you are interested.
