On October 1, the Anthology's canonical URLs (e.g., https://aclweb.org/anthology/P19-1282) will switch to display the paper information page (the landing page) instead of the PDF. This means you will no longer need to use the "slash trick" of appending a "/" to the URL to reach it.

This is the only change that will occur. The slash trick will continue to work, however—it will also continue to display the landing page. PDFs, BibTeX files, and other formats can be accessed directly by appending the extension to the canonical URL:

In addition to making it easier to find a useful but currently hidden page, this will bring the Anthology's behavior in line with other sites, like arXiv and DBLP. Also, since PDFs will be linked directly with a link containing a ".pdf" extension, we hope it help address problems with Google Scholar search and surfacing.

Sincerely,
The Anthology Team
