Hi,

since I wanted to try out ack2 and use a dependency manager called homebrew on my Mac I have written a formula that pulls the compiled ack-standalone and installs it on your system.

Pull requests are welcome and I intend to keep this repository up to date until ack2 final is released.

Thanks for a great piece of software,
Leonard

http://betterthangrep.com/install/ already has a Homebrew recipe.  Is yours better/different somehow?

Well, the one in the central homebrew repository is only for ack v1.96.

The one I made is for ack2 alpha. This makes it a lot easier to install ack2.

When we go live with ack 2.0, won't the central folks upgrade their recipes?

I don't know anything about packaging, and I don't know what I would do with yours, so forgive my asking.

Hi Leonard,

Would you be willing to update your formula and submit it to the homebrew team?  It seems other users are asking for this now (see also https://github.com/petdance/ack2/issues/298).

Thanks,
Rob
