Imagine a life full of more first moments, with a focus on the people, causes, and passions that matter most to you. It\u2019s within your grasp, but not without a bit of planning and effort. Our mission at Life and Whim is to help you create the space and time necessary to live big through small moments.

We are particularly passionate about children, and believe that the more time kids spend outside hiking in forests, skiing down mountains, and frolicking on beaches, the more they grow and prosper. First moments can happen anywhere, but we're especially interested in the ones that take place in nature. The great outdoors inspires greatness in all of us.

But the question I keep coming back to is this: What wisdom does this alternate version of you have to offer? It can be easy to gaze down the road not taken and imagine it might have been smoother. But if you could meet the person who took that path, they would likely find so much to like about your life.

Mine was 5 years ago when I felt like I should dump my career on its head and move back into my parents house. I was devastated. My mom passed suddenly 9 months later and that is why I have been home. I am the oldest and have slipped into that role. Two siblings got married, a whole lot more loss, therapy and a lot of life has been lived. The sun is coming out and I hope it touches my life next.

What about the meaning of life? Ding pondered for a moment and said, "The meaning of life should be in those special, those sparkling moments, not in the daily life, those ordinary days, but in living for those unique moments." In Ding's eyes, love is also very important because it is the happiness in this lifetime, and he likes to read novels and movies that depict love. "You probably want to get good results in chess, to be famous for ages, to be remembered by people in the future. Some people may have lived a miserable life, but they left something behind, wrote something down, and their goal was to be immortal. But I am not that great, I value happiness in my life as well."

Life changing moments is also the album where Droopy, a song people know from Minecraft, originally came from. I think the reason I added it to Minecraft Alpha is because at the time, the official Minecraft trailer used this song.

Celebrations are powerful, and yet sometimes it can be hard to think of how to celebrate life other than throwing a party or going out for a nice dinner. In this post I want to share some unique ideas for ways to celebrate to inspire you to come up with your own celebratory traditions and rituals.

The journey towards extraordinary achievement often starts with a spark or unique moment. These are your Pivot Points where you make a choice that significantly affects your life outcomes. Every ultra-high achiever recalls the specific moments that shaped their journeys. You, too, will hear those opportunities knocking on your door, and to achieve something exceptional, you must choose to answer.

We all experience those moments where something gives us a jolt, and we think we can achieve something special, but what separates the most exceptional from everyone else is how they react to these moments.

When faced with a pivot point, the elite few take specific actions that drive them towards achieving their goals. Most others also feel the pang of a pivot point but do little or nothing, and quite soon, like every other experience, these crucial moments pass.

Sometimes a pivot point is a positive or negative life event. These are meaningful events in your life or career, such as being passed up for a promotion, starting a new job, finding a new mentor or coach or losing a loved one. Events that prompt you to do some soul searching or do something you would not ordinarily do are pivot points.

Pivot points are not a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence. They frequently occur because they serve as prompts or reminders for things you want from yourself. Gates and Allen would still have founded Microsoft had they not seen the Popular Electronics magazine. There would have been another trigger. And Jordan still would have been a great basketball player regardless of his high school coach's decision. There would have been another pivot point to drive him to excel.

We believe in the importance of these moments, the need for timely advice and experienced guidance, and we know that these are the moments that impact your life, your family, and your community as they happen and into the future.

Today, 29 July 2015 marks the 125th anniversary of the death of Vincent Willem van Gogh, the legendary Dutch post-impressionist painter behind Starry Night and Café Terrace at Night. His talents went widely unrecognized until after his death. Van Gogh was a brilliant artist with a tormented soul suffering from a mental illness. Below, we look at ten moments in the life of van Gogh.

5) Clare Enters the Franciscan Family. The daughter of a noble Assisian family, Clare was known for her love of God and of the poor. She was attracted to the Gospel way of life preached by St. Francis. Secretly in the dark of night, to the dismay of her wealthy family, Clare met with Francis and his small band of brothers to commit her life totally to God. There in the Portiuncula chapel, she exchanged her golden hair for a simple habit. She would soon begin a quickly growing community of contemplative women devoted to living the Gospel.

Clare remained a close friend and associate of St. Francis, even though she was committed to staying in her monastery alongside the other Poor Clare nuns, named after their foundress. St. Clare died in 1253, outliving her great friend Francis by almost 27 years. Until her death, Clare kept her ideals: a passion for prayer, a life of poverty and humility, and a generous concern for the needy.

Shifting their sound and image from solely aggressive, masculine hip hop to more diverse styles,[4] BTS wanted to express the beauty and anxiousness of "youth" and settled on the title of "花樣年華" (Korean: 화양연화; RR: Hwayangyeonhwa), loosely interpreted to define "youth" as "the most beautiful moment in life."[5] On April 6, 2015, BTS announced their comeback date for April 29, and revealed that all members participated in writing songs for the album.[6] On April 17, an animated comeback trailer[7] was uploaded on Big Hit Entertainment's official YouTube channel, which featured the album's intro track performed by Suga.[8] On April 19, Big Hit Entertainment announced the title of the album, and the first set of member concept photos[9] was posted on their official Twitter account. Along with the reveal of the second set of concept photos,[10] it was stated that two different cover design versions of the album would be released, Pink and White. The album would also include a 120-page photobook and a random photo card.[11] Big Hit Entertainment released the first music video teaser for the album's lead single "I Need U" on April 23.[12] On April 26, the album's track list was revealed, and an album preview was uploaded on Big Hit Entertainment's YouTube channel.[13] Two of the album's tracks, "Boyz with Fun" and "Converse High," had previously been previewed at the 2015 BTS Live Trilogy Episode I: BTS Begins concert held in Seoul on March 29.[14]

Time often pulls friends in different directions, and when you have spouses and kids it only becomes harder to see each other. That's why it's so important to soak up these moments when you have them.

Too often work can be a thankless slog, but there are successes mixed in with the mundane. Whether it's fixing an engine thought to be beyond repair or teaching a struggling student to read, you need to revel in those moments when they come.

Extraordinary, powerful, life-altering, I-can't-breathe-this-is-so-great moments get all the spotlight. For the most part, we don't complain. They're memorable. They're exhilarating. But these big, dramatic experiences in our lives shouldn't get all the credit. It's time for the little moments to have their day in the sun -- especially because they may make us happier in the long run.

As a society, we're notorious for capturing everything -- birthdays, graduations, weddings, babies -- through the lens of our iPhone. Our camera rolls are stocked with images from these big moments. However, new research published in the journal Psychological Science suggests that capturing the opposite -- the mundane experiences -- may actually bring us unexpected happiness in the future. In other words, we might want to savor those days at the office or those afternoon walks in the park -- they may bring us more joy when we recall them in the future.

Of course Hawaiian vacations and the births of your grandchildren are going to take precedence over most moments. However, one study suggests that the everyday moments -- the tasty latte and the long conversations with your kids -- mean more and make you happier as you age.
