There were some bugs in the P2P software, so I have updated the
appliances images with the new version. While the system should be
reliable enough to handle the bugs, nevertheless, I would encourage all
users to upgrade if they were using a version that isn't newer than this

On to more interesting things....
You can easily upgrade your existing Grid Appliance VMs locally by
copying your home.vmdk and placing it into the directory of a new Grid
Appliance. Though with one caveat, if you tweaked any ipop / grid
appliance related files in /etc you could prevent the system from
working properly. I would suspect that few if anyone will have to worry
about that.
Grid Appliance download has been moved into the proper place:
http://www.grid-appliance.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59&Itemid=66
For Archer users, you can also download your Simics opt there. When you
join the Archer group, you are also agreeing to the Simics EULA (if you
end up using the Simics opt that is).
So a quick run down of tasks to upgrade:
- join Archer groupvpn
- Create or Join an Archer GroupAppliance -- All Archer members are
welcome to join the Archer Default
- shut down the old appliance
- download the new appliance / simics
- copy the home.vmdk from the old appliance to the new appliance
- download floppy (client for end users, worker for back-end nodes) and
start the new appliance
- you will get a new IP address, thus if you use the automount nfs file
system you will need to update references to your new directory
Please upgrade as soon as you get the chance!

David
