Blue-violet light is most present in direct sunlight. Along with UV, these light wavelengths could lead to eye health problems and visual discomfort. The bright glare of LED device screens and indoor lighting can be reduced by wearing KODAK Total Blue Lenses. They are available in various lens styles and material indexes to cover any prescription. KODAK Total Blue Lens offers UV protection and blue-violet light filtration for every patient, at every age.

KODAK UVBlue Lens provides protection from damaging UV rays and filters blue-violet light using an optimized clear lens material. This special material allows KODAK UVBlue to lessen the amount of blue-violet light to reach the eye, potentially allowing the eyes to focus for longer periods of time on digital devices with greater comfort.

Kodak Total Blue 1.6AR Lens is a hybrid of lens material and AR lens coatings that deliver excellent vision indoors, outdoors, every single day. These lenses are a combination of a special high index material in 1.6 index and a anti-reflective coating (AR Coating) that combined, filters and reflects >87% of High Energy Visible Blue Light (HEV). (As well as 100% of UV light.)

These lenses are very clear, with no tint in the lenses, and are the best option for most people. This is the absolute best clear, AR Coated blue block lens we have seen, as it offers the clearest vision without color distortion, and the highest UV/Blue Light/HEV protection. They work particularly well at reducing glare from fluorescent lighting. And oh yeah, the add-on is $80.00 versus $240.00+ in retail stores!

The Kodak Total Blue 1.6AR lenses are available in all of our full frame styles. These 1.6 high index lenses are very thin and are not available in rimless or semi-rimless frame styles. The option price for these is $80.00. They are available as reading lenses or prescription lenses for reading, computer or distance vision. Read more about all of our blue block AR lenses.

I just got a beater Kodak 3A Autographic of the bay that came with a Kodak Anistigmat 170mm f6.3 lens #72399 that I swear has a very slight blue cast to the front element. Is it possible that these lenses came with a single coating that early? The lens came in an Ilex Universal shutter, which apart from only going to 100, is a nice simple clean design shutter.

Well, that's a late lens and shutter combination, Brian Coe's book shows that combination as produced from 1926 to 1931. But, that's awfully early for any deliberate lens coating, even soft coating. Looks like the end of production for all the 3A models was 1934. Just too expensive a camera and film to sell in the Great Depression.

The Kodak Anastigmat f/6.3 lens is probably Tessar formula, the Rapid Rectillinear was only stretched to f/8 or f/11 in this size. I think the Kodak Anastigmat f/7.7 is not a Tessar, it's a symmetric design (a Dialyt I think). I think the f/7.7 is the fastest of the 3A lenses that still has a wide coverage angle, the Tessars have a narrower cone.

I have a real Zeiss Tessar on one of my 3A's, but it's a particularly fast lens, like an f/5.3. If yours is an f/6.3, it probably pretty much the same as the Kodak Anastigmat f/6.3. These fast Zeiss lenses are generally only found on the rangefinder 3A models, since you need the focusing accuracy for a fast lens.

Ok, first off, Kodak was still producing the 3A in 1945 when they finally quit making them. I know this because the 3A is shown in the lineup of "cameras in production" in "The Complete Photographer - An Encyclopedia of Photography" (Edited by Willard D. Morgan. Pub. by National Educational Alliance 1949).

Also, aside from the "old wive's tale" of lenses coating themselves when left next to a radiator (that is how I heard it told) there were kits sold post-war that allowed you to coat your old lenses. Don't know how that worked or how well but the ads are in the old magazines offering the product.

Kodak Total Blue Lens is a hybrid of lens material and AR lens coating that provides 100% direct UV protection and up to 80% filtering of HEV Blue Light* while maintaining colour vision.

The Eastman Kodak Company may be known for cameras, but Kodak Lens makes a variety of eyeglasses lenses. Their products range from Kodak single vision, bifocal and progressive lenses to Kodak blue light and sun lenses.

If you wear glasses, the type of lenses you choose can make a big difference in how well you see every day. Kodak Lens is one well-known brand you may want to consider for your next pair of eyeglasses.

The Kodak Lens brand grew out of Kodak, a company that in the late 1800s began selling a simple camera for use at home. The company expanded into film, printing and publishing, document imaging and health imaging. The Kodak Lens brand was a natural outgrowth of the company's focus on camera lenses.

What is glare? Glare is when eyeglass lenses reflect light away from the eye. Plastic lenses in eyeglasses reflect about 8 to 10 percent of light away from the eye. And high-index lenses reflect even more light.

That means less light is available to the eye for crisp vision. One way to combat glare is with anti-glare lenses, which allow over 99 percent of light to reach the eye. Anti-glare lenses can make it easier to drive at night and can help you see better in general. They also allow others to see your eyes more clearly.

Spending a lot of time in front of computers, tablets and smartphones can lead to tired eyes.Kodak Total Blue lenses filter some high-energy visible (HEV) blue light as well as UV rays. Amber lens tints are typically required to filter both blue-turquoise and blue-violet light.

Ask to see the terms of the warranty when you buy glasses through your eye doctor. Check the terms for the lenses, lens coatings and frames. They should state how long the warranty lasts, what it does and does not cover, and how you can use the warranty.

Our lenses are superior to any clear lens available for blocking blue light. They are excellent for the health of your eyes. They are also good to wear before bed to prepare your eyes and in turn, your brain, for sleep.

In addition, two new patient interaction tools in the program are designed to increase patient satisfaction, according to the company. They include the Total Blue Lens Light Measuring Unit and Kodak Lens Vision Studio App.
