It turns out that even to use the admin panel (not to watch the camera feed) you have to have a browser capable (or willing) load and run the ActiveX control. This is going to be a real problem for some people (tablet users, Mac users, etc).
There are two download links for installers for apps for iPhone and Android but note these are not links to approved apps on iTunes or Google Playm they are direct links to the apps to load them on your device.
Hello.
I have the same camera working. Storage to local disk (c;d) and sending email works fine.
But no access to nts and ftp.
My nas protocoll:
ftp login and logout but upload und download 0 Bytes.
It seems that the connection to ftp works, but no file upload. With filezilla its is possible to upload files on this ftp server synology nas.
Any special ftp server settings necessary?
Regards
Bernd
I have managed to access video directly from the camera to my Android tablet, using an app called CamHi, suggested by the Szsinocam people. This was by actually connecting to the camera direct as one available network on my house, having disconnected from my main router.
But then, having connected direct to the camera, I go to the WiFi settings ...within the CamHi app...and provide my main router password in order to log the camera in. CamHi says "Connection successful". The camera disappears as an available network. But I am unable to access the camera via a browser, through the main router. I dl'd an app called Fing, which shows all devices connected to my main router. The seven devices that are normally connected: phones, tablets, PCs etc, all show, along with their IP and MAC Addresses. Not the camera.
This sounds like a very likely lead. The trouble is the app I am using to set up the camera (the one supported by the camera company) does not AFAICS provide any opportunity to check IP settings. I bought these on the terms that they were a simple install, with no need to worry about settings. The app is supposed to do it all. So my knolwedge oif how to check and change all that stuff is pretty limited and mostly stale.
Hi,
I recommend you to make a clean installation of Netcam. Do the following:
-start the installation program of NCS and select remove.
-go to C:\ProgramData\Moonware\Netcam Studio\Server
-copy the Lic.dat to a safe place since that contains the licensing information.
-if you have recordings that you want to keep, keep the Library folder.
-delete all (the rest).
-install NCS again and add the cameras.
-copy back Lic.dat and restart NCS.
Thanks Henrik. Will try that but not to hopeful as I have already tried installing a clean C drive image and then a clean NCS but that made no difference.
Is there anyway I can simply put the camera ip and ONVIF port etc into NCS?
Is the older version of NCS still around? It is a long shot but that version worked straight away.
They are Szsinocam 1080p, not in the list of cameras. the LAN ip for one is 192.168.1.138 and the ONVIF port is 8080. (That works fine on TinyCam Pro).
The HTTP port is 5555 and that works using internet explorer.
If I use devise browser on NCS it picks up the ip and correct Mac address for device type LAN but nothing for device type ONVIF.
Yes that is the cam or very similar. I have tried that but when I click get profiles nothing happens.
I am using wi fi. Perhaps I need to take one down and connect direct to router just to see if that works.
Yes it is. When I browse the LAN NCS picks them up. But it cannot connect to them using the HTTP port.
If I browse for ONVIF devices nothing shows. If I put the IP and ONVIF ports into NCS it cannot connect.
No no we dont give up that easy
I did some search and found the generic onvif http URL that most likely TinyCam use. It is
:8080/onvif/device_service
or
_service
login as used to the camera.
Excellent it is working. The onvif url is :8080/onvif/devices
I assume /devices and /device_service is the same. This works with three different szsinocam cameras so would probably work for them all.
I loaded up the 32bit software on an oldl windows 10 tablet and it picked up the cameras straight away with no help from me. The 64bit desktop needed the custom URL.
Many thanks
I have a Sinocam IP-camera which was connected to a Huawei b593 4g router, until a supposed computer engineer fiddled with the cameras settings and rendered it unusable. The camera ships with a static ip address of 192.168.1.100, but does not respond to pings on that address any more.
I experienced a similar problem when wi-fi IP address was set to be the same as the wired IP address. I resolved it by turning the wi-fi radio on the router off and by connecting both computer and the camera by ethernet wires. I was able to access camera's setup page that way and change the wi-fi IP address.
Maybe you can download the free "Network scanner" tool from Softperfect. It shows you a list of all connected devices and their IP addresses. Then attach the router only to you PC with an ethernet cable and type the IP into your browser. You should then arrive at the router's internal home page.Hope my answer can help you!
