Iinstalled the one UI 5.1.1 August update today and the Smart View developer options have been removed. I am no longer able to use the S6 Lite as a second screen for my windows laptop. This is EXTREMELY inconvenient. Not sure why that feature would be removed. Can that feature be accessed a different way now?

To use Smart View Mirror, you will need to install the app on both your Samsung device and your Windows laptop. Once the app is installed, you can connect your devices to the same Wi-Fi network and launch the app on both devices.

On your Samsung device, open the Smart View Mirror app and tap the "Start" button. On your Windows laptop, open the Smart View Mirror app and select your Samsung device from the list of available devices.

Any links to the app? I am not finding it in either google, Samsung or windows app stores. It is a shame they just didn't move the ability to connect to a wireless monitor with the S6 Lite to another location. If I understand correctly, other tablets have this option and it is not hidden under developer options.

There was no privacy or security concerns about it. It was a very useful feature which is being kept out of the reach of customers which doesn't required third party app installation on both the participating devices which also saves them from installing third party app which could be malicious. It is an Act of Evil.

The second screen feature was one of the reasons I bought the tablet. I purchased it last week and I'm strongly considering returning it because of this very disappointing problem. It's absurd to downgrade a previously existing feature.

Not sure, but i think they did it to force people who need it most to buy a more expensive tablet and/or to buy galaxy book and use its multicontrol feature. (maybe both at the same time, i'm note sure if other tabs, like s8 or s9 work as second screen to other windows 11 pc than the galaxy book)

Second Screen was never officially supported on the Tab S6 Lite and the option was hidden in Developer Options. Either they had a desire to include it but couldn't because of issues with it or they never intended it to be an option but in any case, it was removed in One UI 5.1.1 I believe.

It is therefore quite understandable if you want a Samsung Smart TV as a consumer. As well as, as an entrepreneur, it is unsurprising if you would want your users to access your content through a Samsung Smart TV. Whichever might be the case, you are likely to need to know how to enable the Developer Mode on Samsung Smart TVs.

The standard TV user is not very likely to be concerned with enabling developer mode in their Smart TV. As a samsung tv app developer though, it might be necessary during testing apps on target devices. With a Samsung Smart TV, however, you might need to know how to enable developer mode, even as a mere viewer. Let me illustrate why.

Tizen is an operating system that has been developed by Samsung Electronics. As Samsung smartphones are powered by Android, and their wearable devices are on Wear OS, Tizen OS mainly comes into play with the Samsung Smart TVs. Samsung uses Tizen as the sole proprietary operating system for their Smart TV devices. Architecturally, Tizen is a brilliant OS that compliments the technological finesse of Samsung hardware.

However, the caveat lies in the fact that Tizen OS is not a very widely used platform, unlike Android. A majority of web apps as well as TV apps are often developed with a focus on Android. As a user, it is often possible that you do not find your desirable apps in the Tizen Store. While being a part of an enterprise targeting Smart TV users, you would need to develop Tizen apps for your platform, as a user, you might need to install APK files of your desired apps in your Samsung Smart TV. For either of these tasks, you are going to need to know how to enable the Developer Mode in a Samsung Smart TV.

And that is a wrap! Enabling Developer Mode in Samsung TV is that easy, literally just five steps. In developer mode, you can do a lot more from your TV than using it as a mere TV device. Hope you found this guide easy and simple to follow.

Be aware before we start: Developer options are hidden for a reason. The entire menu has been designed for use by developers who want to test functionalities and make changes that may impact your phone in one way or another. It may improve your performance, but it may also have the opposite effect. It's not a good idea to go in and change things without an understanding of each option and a reason for doing so. So make sure you've done your homework before you start.

Step 3: Tap Build number seven times. After the first few taps, you should see the steps counting down until you unlock the developer options. You may also have to tap in your PIN for verification.

Just when you thought Web3 -- the name given to a decentralized version of the internet -- had been consigned to the history books, along comes a new smartphone project to try to convince you otherwise, and, in an attempt to ensure it appears as up-to-date as possible, adds another buzzword to the list: AI.

I have tried everything and am unable to activate the developeroptions on my Sasmung Galaxy S7 Edge with Android 8.0. Whenever I tapthe build number repeatedly, it says that the developer mode hasalready been enabled. I can confirm however, that this is not thecase:

This was also true for my S8, Android 9. Though, every time it says "You are _ steps away from being a developer..." and then asks me to put in the password and then says "Developer mode has been turned on." I can repeat this many times and it will ask me for the password every time and say the same things every time and the developer options are still not there. I am equally at a loss to the OP and I'm equally unhappy about the current only solution of a factory reset. Help would be greatly appreciated!

I found the reason it was for me: I use an internet filter called NetSpark ( ) which disables Developer Options as a security measure to prevent workarounds or uninstallations. It is a matter of enabling this in the Netspark settings.

I am trying to connect my device to my mobile app however I am recieving an error "Developer Options Not Supported" This device has enabled Developer Options ,Please disable Developer Options in order to use Square's chip reader.

The error you're seeing here about "Developer Options" is actually due to a setting on your mobile device rather than the Square reader itself. Square readers require a secure operating environment in order to process sensitive card data, which means the "Developer Options" on your Android device should be turned off.

You can generally find this setting on your Android Device under "Settings" then "Developer Options" (usually located towards the bottom of your settings) - make sure you flick Developer Options off. Once you've done this, you should be able to pair the reader successfully via the Square POS app.

My reader was fine and accepting payments and then all of a sudden stopped working and is giving me the "developer options" message. I have turned it off in settings but I still can not pair my reader.

Why cant I use the card reader when my phone has developer mode enabled. Developer mode is not a security issue so developer mode should not have any effect on the APP or the Card Reader. Due to my disability I require developer mode to be enabled to use specific functions on my phone but the Square reader will not allow this so every time I want to take a payment I have to turn the developer mode off then restart my phone then when I have finished I have to turn it back on again to continue using my phone as normal. This is crazy no other payment solution like iZettle or Worldpay have this issue so why has your Reader. I'ts beginning to drive me nuts can you do an update to fix this I don't want to but I will need to go back to the Worldpay card reader system instead if this is not fixed soon.

To the best of my knowledge, one of the key reasons Square has stricter security requirements than some other card readers is due to differing PCI compliance standards for devices that use "PIN on Glass" tech - ie a PIN is being entered on a touchscreen via software, rather than buttons on a separate device.

With this said, it's our goal to make our products as accessible as possible for as many people as possible. If you'd like to send me a PM with more info about how you use Square and your mobile device in general, I can share your feedback with our product development teams and see if we have any other advice to give.

It sounds like there is a setting or app on the device that is preventing Square's reader from forming a secure connection. It's a little difficult for us to pinpoint what that can be without the device at hand - do you recall installing any new apps, updates or turning on new features if the device was previously working? Do you have any apps that can be used for screen recording/sharing or that make use of screen overlays?

If the device previously worked with Square, as a last resort you could also try restoring the phone to it's factory settings, which should restore the phone to a state whereby no apps or settings are conflicting with our ability to securely process payments.
