can't add music to Collection or playlists

Using Acer Chromebook R 11 here. I've been completely unable to add music to the Collection or playlists. The plus icon next to the Music Explorer doesn't function. Hovering over it, the pop-up "Add Songs" help window appears, but clicking on it only toggles the displaying and hiding of the "Songs", "Artists" and "Albums" lines below the Music Collection line, as I take it is supposed to happen when you click on the Music Explorer line itself.

As for dragging and dropping files directly into collection pane or a playlist, I'm trying to do that from the Files window, and all that happens is that Chrome treats the Achshar Player window like any other brpwser window, and opens the file directly, navigating out of the Player altogether.

The article I learned about your Player from mentions a "Add Manually button in the lower right corner" but I see no such button. (screen cap below)

I’m afraid you’ve stumbled upon a dead media player. I have not updated it in years and it most probably won’t work. ☹
