Hey everybody,
I just got this message about a meeting tomorrow (Thursday) night to address the new Trader Joe's development planned for our neighborhood. This is an issue I feel really strongly about, and I feel it is my duty as a neighbor, coop owner, and board member to attend the meeting. Therefore, I will not be at the CEC meeting.
If others are interested in joining the King NA meeting, perhaps we can reschedule the CEC meeting. Otherwise I'll just look forward to seeing the notes in a few days.
Ashley

Hello fellow grocers,
I'm sure you have caught wind of a recent PDC approval of the sale of the property at MLK and Alberta to a California developer at WAY below market value. The development is to include Trader Joe's as its cornerstone merchant. This could be devastating to locally/community owned grocers such as ourselves in this neighborhood.
I am looking for support at the King Neighborhood Association meeting tomorrow night at the Beech St. Parlor from 7 to 9pm.
I am hoping we can form a small coalition of local grocers to appeal to the association with a stronger voice. Please let me know ASAP if any of you might be able to attend. With a larger group we may be able to attract some media attention as well.
Thanks much,
Katie Nichols
