Hey Everyone,

Here are notes from the October CEC meeting. Thanks to Jamilah for taking them and sending them out!

There are 2 main things I want to point out: first, we decided to focus our energy and attention on the Listening Season project. So everything we do (including recruiting new members) will be with the intention of moving that project forward. I've cc-ed this message to the Listening Project folks to give them a chance to weigh in and/or reconnect with us.

Secondly, we had discussed changing next month's meeting time. We will NOT be doing that though, and will stick with our normal time. So the next meeting will be on 11/21, 630-8pm.

Hope to see you there!
Ashley

here you go!!!
==================================

In attendance:  Francesca, Ashley, jamilah

Last meeting we consented to what projects to prioritize.  In this we looked at the mission, and determined what projects to support according to the mission.  The mission doesn't necessarily fit the projects we may be working on.  There was a question of how to get working owners to participate.

The projects have to be identified as:

-educational (inclusion/access)
-about food stability
-about how to shop at the coop
-welcoming low-income people
-sustainability

Once we get the criteria, we will contact Rachel and Theresa, then put it in the e-news.

Current Projects:

Projects- Seasonal

(Note:  Adding 5-10 minutes to the agenda to see what projects are in the 'bike corral')

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee- Nothing has changed since last month.

Project #1:

-Interim partnering with SEI, specifically to outreach and marketing

Project #2:

-Listening project

The point of the project was to speak to people of different levels of involvement, but spoke to people not involved.  It identified a few common threads.

The hope is to organize a series of focus groups, more brainstorming, getting shoppers and building community.

Project #3:

-Living the 7th Principle

Is it coming from operations money or board money?  Francesca will touch base with Theresa Calabrese.

$14 is to be used for the community- who is it going to and how is it being disbursed?  What is the criteria?  Do both the board and staff have to agree that the money goes toward the 7th principle?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Next Meeting:

Next steps- Action items based on the list Jocelyn and Ashley made.  What kind of things do we want to recruit working owners to do?

To the staff:  What types of things would people be interested in- teaching classes at SEI; and what can the CEC do to support this?

jamilah will contact Rachel to ask that she let worker owners know about the CEC and getting involved.

Next meeting:  Monday, the 25th of November
