ACG CEC - July meeting - Thursday, 7/18

Hi guys - not sure who is able to attend on Thursday, but hoping we have a decent turnout to have good conversations and to get some stuff tackled! I spoke with Scott briefly on Saturday and heard about a binder in the closet that is the CEC toolkit, so I'm going to try and head in 15 minutes early or so to check this elusive binder out :) I can cover bringing snacks and either facilitating or note-taking.

Hello everyone!

I've recently joined the ACG collective as the Technology Coordinator, and am very excited to work with the CEC, particularly as it pertains to gentrification mitigation: diversification of the coop's reach, while working in some capacity to help our neighbors stay in their homes.

Sadly, I have a front-end shift on Thu, until 7:30. I may be able to find a replacement for that time, but I wonder if anyone who's attending would be averse to starting at 7:30.

Hi Nick - welcome! If we have another person hop in with a yay for attending, I'm fine with pushing it to 7:30; I just have to roll out by 8:30 that night...but with 4 of us it would probably be a shorter meeting :)

Please don't cancel the meeting altogether. It took a long time to build up community awareness of that time slot & location, and not everyone is on this thread or necessarily reads all the email. Many members float in & out. It would seem that you can announce changes and be good, but in fact it has consistently taken many months for word to get around, no matter how many times we've reached out to this lists. The CEC's following is a fragile thing for the same reason the CEC is so needed: Our community is widely dispersed & barely connected.

Scott - I understand your hesitancy. Given there are only 3 of us able to commit to for an alternate time early next week and 1.5 available for close windows of time tonight, I think we can explain to anyone who would show up the circumstances/reasoning behind rescheduling. I can plan to head over to the break room a few minutes before and hang for a little in case someone does show up to get them acquainted (and recruited?!) for the committee and its work.
