High demand for cereals at Busia produce market.
High demand for maize and beans was reported for a fortnight at Busia regional produce hub. An increased in the volume procured per day rose to approximately 400MT of maize grain.
In the beans section, demand was equally high and the market was very busy. Yellow beans were preferred at Ksh.87/kg (Ugx.3036) Nambale beans cost Ksh.76/kg (Ugx.2652).
In Kisenyi dry grain market it was generally stable at Ugx.1180-1200/kg..
The delivery of beans to Kampala markets was gradually reducing because beans were harvested first.
