BECOMING A MENSCH
For Families with Children in 4th and 5th Grade
When we embarrass someone else, we damage their self-esteem, their
confidence, their pride, or even their willingness to take risks. How do we
teach our children not to embarrass others intentionally, and to be more
aware as to when their actions might unintentionally hurt others? How do we
also teach our children how to mitigate self- shame and being embarrassed
about themselves? Save the date for upcoming learning sessions:
Saturday, February 28, Saturday, April 4, and Saturday, May 2. All are
welcome, so please feel free to forward this email to friends. RSVP or
questions: LKurland@AnscheChesed.org.
TALLIT DESIGNING
Under the guidance of Artist, Sarah Jacobs, you will have the opportunity to create your own beautiful and meaningful Tallit. This is something you will use for many years to come. The program will consist of a mandatory opening session and three workshop sessions. It is open to the entire congregation and is highly suggested for pre-B'nei Mitzvah students.
The opening program will be held on:
This Sunday, February 1 from 10-11:30AM at Ansche Chesed.
At this session participants will learn about the tallit, its history and important meanings. After engaging in text study, you will choose a meaningful text and fabric for the tallit.
Costs will vary, but a total cost of $100-$200 should be expected.
