Release time comes round again:
http://aceracpi.googlecode.com/files/acer_acpi-0.8.tar.bz2
Visible user changes:
1) sysfs interface in /sys/platform/devices/acer_acpi (everything except mail
LED and brightness - see 2 & 3)
2) acer_acpi registers the Mail LED with the kernel's LED subsystem
3) acer_acpi registers the brightness control with the kernel's backlight
subsystem - for gnome-power-manager users, this means 'Auto Dim' should now
work.
4) This release _might_ start compiling again on older kernels (i.e. pre
2.6.18) as I've done a bit of cleanups on the known and suspected issues that
broke this (although I _really_ do suggest that you should be using a newer
kernel than 2.6.17).
5) EC data added for Aspire 3020, 3040, 5040 and 5650 - the 3020, 3040 and
5040 will now report "real" values for wireless, bluetooth and mail LED, and
brightness can now be controlled. On the 5650, the mail LED is now accessible
(and the multimedia keys should emit proper scancodes now).
