Hello all,

It's time for another release of acer_acpi - 0.6 is now out. It is available
to download here:

http://aceracpi.googlecode.com/files/acer_acpi-0.6.tar.bz2

The user visible changes are:

* Deprecated "enabled : X". "X" will now just work ("enabled: X" will be
removed in 0.7)

* Patched Makefile to stop complaining on kernels <= 2.6.17
(thanks to Subbu)

* Added support for new "WMID" interface (thanks to Jim Ramsay)

For reference: the ACPI interface used by all the laptops supported by the
earlier releases of acer_acpi (0.5 and older) has been retroactively named
the 'AMW0' interface. For users of those laptops, acer_acpi has not changed
in its device support - no hardware support has been added or removed.

For users of newer hardware with the 'WMID' interface, thanks to the efforts
of Jim Ramsay in reverse engineering this interface, and providing the
necessary code to drive it, your laptops are now (hopefully) supported for
wireless, bluetooth and brightness. Based on feedback, we are confident that
wireless and brightness will work. Bluetooth is unknown, but _should_ work.
(There is also experimental support for 3G, but we don't know for certain of
anyone who has this hardware, so it is untested - please see the README for
how to enable this if you have the hardware).

Enjoy!

Carlos
