BakiHanma ist ein junger Kmpfer, der nach dem Ziel strebt, in die Fustapfen seines Vaters Yujiro zu treten und der strkste Kmpfer der Welt zu werden. Sein Vater war einst der "Knig der Kmpfer". Durch hartes Training versucht er ununterbrochen seine Fhigkeiten zu verbessern und ihnen den "Feinschliff" zu geben, um sich den Titel "Knig" aneignen zu knnen. Auf dem Weg zu seinem Ziel nimmt Baki Hanma viele Kmpfe auf sich, jedoch sind nicht alle seine Gegner Feinde, manche werden auch seine Freunde.

The 24 episode anime aired in Japan between January 8, 2001 and June 25, 2001. A second 24 episode series called Grappler Baki Maximum Tournament aired from July 22, 2001 to December 24, 2001. The story revolves around Baki Hanma and his quest to proclaim himself as the strongest grappler in the world, thus taking the title from his father. Baki also fights to gain the trust of his overly psychotic mother. The anime was licensed and distributed by FUNimation Entertainment in the US. The OVA was released by Manga Entertainment in Australia and the UK and previously released by Central Park Media in the US. Gutsoon! Entertainment released the first 46 chapters of the original manga in English in the pages of Raijin Comics, their anthology magazine.

Baki Hanma est un jeune garon de treize ans. Mais malgr son ge peu avanc il possde des capacits physiques effarantes. Rien d'tonnant cela : il est le fils naturel d'Yujiro Hanma, "l'tre le plus fort du monde" aussi appel "l'ogre". Baki a ainsi t duqu toute sa jeunesse pour devenir le plus fort, et marcher sur les traces de son pre. Ce destin hors du commun l'amne chercher sans cesse un nouveau dfi, un nouveau combat mener, un nouvel adversaire terrasser. Nombreux sont les guerriers qui croiseront sa route. Mais Baki n'a qu'une chose en tte : vaincre Yujiro Hanma.

L'anime racconta le avventure di un ragazzo chiamato Baki Hanma che cerca di farsi strada nel mondo della lotta da strada. Inizialmente lo vediamo quasi fosse un burattino nelle mani della madre, Emi Akezawa, ma quando questa viene uccisa da suo padre Yujiro, l'essere pi forte di tutto il pianeta, Baki si pone un solo obiettivo nella vita: diventare il combattente pi forte del mondo e sconfiggerlo. La seconda serie continua la trama della prima, dove viene organizzato il pi grande torneo di arti marziali di tutti i tempi: il torneo, che si svolge in un unico giorno, ammette ogni disciplina, che dovr ammettere ciascuna un solo valido rappresentante, e il vincitore avr l'onore di sfidare Yujiro Hanma in persona.

Grappler Baki (Japanese: グラップラー刃牙, Hepburn: Gurappurā Baki), known as Baki the Grappler in North America, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki. It was originally serialized in the shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Champion from 1991 to 1999 and collected into 42 tankōbon volumes by Akita Shoten. The story follows teenager Baki Hanma as he trains and tests his fighting skills against a variety of different opponents in deadly, no rules hand-to-hand combat.

In 1994 a 45-minute OVA titled Grappler Baki: The Ultimate Fighter in thhe West was released adapting the first volume of the part, omitting any reference to Yujiro and ending at Baki's fight with Shinogi Kosho.

In 2000, a 2D fighting videogame adaptation of the Maximum Tournament arc titled Grappler Baki: Baki's Strongest Fighter was released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan. It was released in the UK in English under the title Fighting Fury in 2003.

This series was licensed for a North American release by Gutsoon! Entertainment, who published the first 46 chapters in their English-language manga anthology magazine Raijin Comics in 2002. Four volumes were planned but the series went incomplete.
